Privacy Policy

MoonFable is a bedtime-stories app made for families. We designed it so that we know as little about you — and nothing about your child — as we can get away with. This page explains exactly what that means.

The short version

• No accounts. The app works without sign-up, email, or names.
• No ads. There is no advertising and no third-party ad SDK.
• No personal data about children. We don't collect names, photos, voice, location, contacts, or messages — from anyone.
• No selling of data. We have nothing to sell.

Anonymous usage statistics

To understand which stories families enjoy, the app sends anonymous usage signals (for example, "a story was opened" or "narration finished") to TelemetryDeck, a privacy-first analytics service. TelemetryDeck anonymizes these signals on the device using salted hashes; neither we nor they can identify you or your device from them. No advertising identifiers are used. Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple through your App Store account — we never see your name, email, or payment details. To know whether a subscription is active, the app uses RevenueCat, which stores a random, anonymous identifier and purchase state (no personal information). See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

Content downloads

Stories, pictures, and narration are downloaded from our content servers (hosted on Cloudflare). Standard server logs (IP address, request path) may exist briefly for security and reliability; we don't use them to identify or profile anyone.

Children's privacy (COPPA)

MoonFable is designed for children ages 6–10 used together with their parents, and is offered in the App Store's Kids category. We do not collect personal information from children — or from anyone. The app contains no chat, no user-generated content, no push notifications, no external links reachable by a child (a parental gate protects grown-up areas), and no advertising of any kind.

The only identifiers the app uses are the anonymous, random ones described above (TelemetryDeck's on-device salted hash and RevenueCat's random purchase identifier). These are persistent identifiers used solely to support the app's internal operations — counting story plays and honoring subscriptions — as permitted by COPPA (16 CFR § 312.5(c)(7)). They are never used to contact anyone, build profiles, or serve advertising, and they are not linked to any personal information.

The third parties that process these anonymous signals on our behalf are Apple (App Store purchases), RevenueCat (subscription state), TelemetryDeck (anonymous usage statistics), and Cloudflare (content delivery). None of them receive personal information from MoonFable.

Parents: because we collect no personal information, there is nothing for us to review, delete, or stop collecting — but you always have those rights, and we're happy to answer questions or handle any request at support@moonfable.us. MoonFable is the operator of the app and this website, and that address reaches us directly.

Your choices

• You can use the entire app without providing any personal information.
• Deleting the app removes all locally stored stories and settings.
• Questions or requests: support@moonfable.us.

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above. Material changes will be called out in the app's release notes.
